GHS 100   Explorations of Healthcare 1 credit

This one-credit course is for students interested in pursuing a degree in healthcare. This course is designed to be taken during the first semester of college in order to help students be successful in a healthcare major. Students will learn about competency-based education common in healthcare, patient advocacy, how to improve critical thinking, and active learning strategies that they can implement in prerequisite courses and beyond. Students will gain exposure to specific healthcare-oriented fields such as nursing, healthcare administration, and medical sciences, as well as the pathways necessary for their chosen major. Students will also get to know current faculty at their campus and tour facilities virtually.
